R56 Door Locks
The option, if set (I don't have the manual handy either) will lock the doors at 10 MPH. I don't think there was a choice for "in gear".

It's in the (tach) settings (key with checkmark icon).
There are 2 settings
The 1st setting I can't figure out a purpose for? When set, if you unlock the doors with the key fob and then -never open any doors-, the doors will automatically lock again after about 3 min. If you open a door before the timeout then the auto locking is canceled until you unlock with the FOB again.
....I guess if you were walking away from your car and you pressed unlock when you meant to press lock?
The other setting as someone said will automatically lock the doors when you hit 10 mph.
Other options will flash the parking lights when you lock/unlock with the FOB and/or sound a chirp (only if you have the factory alarm).
Note that the lights will only flash once. If you are looking for your car in a parking garage then you would have to hit unlock then lock..... in order to have the lights flash multiple times.

I am pretty sure my FOB works at 200' plus. I have the Comfort access FOB if that makes a difference?
It'll use your body as the antenna...seriously.
