Installing IE race camber plates

I've had some trouble installing my IE race plates to with stock diameter springs (vmaxx coilovers). All I need to know is, does anyone have experience installing IE race plates with their oem diameter springs? I've put all three of the washers provided below the camber plate to space things out, but that still doesn't do the trick. The camber plate still touches the upper spring perch. I'm having IE send me more washers, but in the meantime, I'd just like to have an idea on whether I'll need 4 or even 5 washers (if 5 washers even fits).

Thanks in advance

IE Race plates? On a street car? Not a good idea I don't think. They will start to fail in a few months if this is a daily driver.
Also, I'm surprised that IE suggest they work with the factory style springs. Being the top spring perch is made for 2.5" race springs and is an iatrical part of the plate. Maybe they changed the design. I have not seen them in three years. I use a set on my race car.

I know of multiple street/daily driven cars that run these with no problems due to failure. To be specific, one guy has gone 10k so far.

Will do. I've decided to just go with a set of 2.5" ID springs to solve this issue. However, I have no clue as to what springs rates I should go with.

depends on just what you will be doing with your car. Also the shocks have been tuned for a small range of rates, so better find out what that is. Call who you bought the coilovers from and see if they know or can find out.

So I installed the extra washer and the camber plates work fine now. The only problem is, the top locking nut doesn't have enough threads for fully "lock" in place. It's almost there, but not quite.

Is it safe to drive my car until I go to the shop on thursday?

edit: I put blue loctite on the top nuts as well.

Yea, with blue loctight you should be OK as long as you check them.
Why to the shop? You just ned to by a pinch type lock nut rather then the nylon locks. you can get them quite thin.

The nut actually is a pinch type locking nut. I've been driving on it for two days now and they seem to be fine. I bought some thinner nuts with less threads that are nylon. We'll see if I need them.

I'm going to the shop later this week for an alignment anyway. While I'm there I might as well have them take a look. Thanks for the help.

Be glad you arent subject to a two thread rule. Try looking at www.mcmaster.com and see if they have something (highly likely they will).

So I'm back with another question. I'm about to purchase some 2.5" ID springs so these camber plates can finally work correctly. Upon looking at the upper spring perches provided by IE, the opening looks way too big in relation to the coilover shaft on the vmaxx.

Do the washers provided fill up this space (I don't have any on hand)? I'd just like to know if these are the correct upper perches before I take the car apart.
