dealerships terrible gasket install *pics*

so at 5k miles my turbo got replaced, they blamed the cold start on my turbo so i got a new turbo, i didnt check under the heat shield till today when i was going to put my new DP on. look at what they did, there are 2 gaskets in there and 1 is obviously not for my car. orlando mini makes me furious at the terrible service i have got from them. how is a cold start issue that makes a slow clacking sound related to the turbo that spins at ~100k rpm......

is anyone's exhaust gasket like mine?

sorry for the bad pics, its my phone and it was dark outside.

anyways update on this is i drove 1 hour to the mini dealership in a different car showed them the gasket and talked them into giving me a new one free of charge. they semi-redeemed them selves, but cant we get the job done properly the first time.......is this to much to ask from mini dealerships now a days.

Ok...I think it is Survey Time and give them 'The What For...' when you do. This is TOTALLY unacceptable!!

Yeah, so they hid the evidence... "What wrong gasket, what are you talking about?!!"

i really dont care that much cause they gave me a new one without charging me $20 for a gasket. exhaust leak for about 20k miles was okay because its fixed now

thats what i get for letting a dealership anywhere close to my car. its expected these days.

looks like they didn't have a replacement gasket to use when your car was in for service and the tech* was a hack and just re-used the gasket. sad really to see that from a dealer. I've never heard much good of florida dealers though. As for getting the new one in, its not exactly the fastest thing to do.....

This thread horrifies me. Looking at those pictures is like looking at the carcasses of marine mammals that have washed ashore because of the BP oil catastrophe.

Your MINI dealership should be ashamed of themselves. Where the hell did they pull that gasket out of anyway? Do they have a cardboard box of parts labelled: This oughta do it?

I am picking up my precious tomorrow morning from a MINI dealer here in south Florida ... So for my sake I really hope MINI of Fort Lauderdale does better for $149 a hr.
