R52 Top will only go up halfway - help?

im having issues with my 05 cooper s convertable. it will only half way.......any body got any idea? thx

I have a year on my 2009 MINI MCS convertible and I put the top up and down about 2 times minimum per day. I did have the plastic attachment clip break but it was really minor and they replaced the whole top under warranty. Mine was an early build second gen convertible.

I sold my 323 BMW convertible to buy the MINI convertible and I have had convertibles for over 30 years. This is a great convertible - you can hear the engine purr with the top down. I would not hesitate to buy another MINI convertible!!!
