got bored again today, so I washed my car, and under the hood, and took some wet, some dry shots
C&C welcome as always

(this one is a raw photo, but i liked it)

back of my modified piaa lights. showing my HID conversion and the modified alta light bar.

ballast mounting location (image is supposed to be rotated 90 deg. CC, idk why imageshack rotated it....)

well not a lot of compliments or criticism.... yall are a tough crowd :P :D
personally the only ones I even liek are #3 and #4.
#1 would have been good if i had focused farter down the light bar....
and the last one while cool, makes everything look greasy in my opinion... even though everything is actually quite clean under there...

they were taken at ~ 25 mm on a cannon EF-S 18-55mm zoom lens with image stablilization.
oh, and i don't use a tripod (broke my odl one... oops :P ) so these are all free hand shots of multiple exposures (lemme ell ya, its hard to do)

and another one :D
probably my favorite of the day as well

night time shot done in garage. 4 flourescent bulbs, and a 1000 watt halogen bouncing off the white paint of my moms car at wheel level to give it some soft lighting.

I reckon those reflectors you have on the wheel arches in America are a photography nightmare. I like the wheel shot very much apart from that.
The first shot (lightbar from the front) - I love this angle! My suggestion would be a slightly longer depth of field, so that all 4 lights are in focus but the background stays soft. The lighting works for me!
And the back of your light bar is a whole lot neater than behind my lights - mine would never make a photo
whereas yours makes for an interesting shot. How about with the lights on through some mist???

haha, unlike the UK, we never see mist :P its 95% humidity and 90+ F every day and sticky, but gets cool-ish at night. If i'm lucky there will be random super tiny patches of fog at night....
and *** for the reflector, i can make it look less noticeable (desaturate the hell out of it...)

Wow thats great for no tripod, I bought a monopod for when I don't want to carry around my tripod and it helps a lot but of course not as much as the tripod would.
My favorite is the Piaa Lights!

I like the angles and stuff, but I agree the halos and underexposure in some spots catch my eye. I would try doing multiple hdrs and composite them in photoshop so you keep an even exposure in the picture
