Recommendation of a shop to install coilovers, alignment and corner weight balance

I live in Orange County,CA
Does anyone know of a good performance and tuning shop in OC?
I want to install a set of Cross coilovers and have some suspension work and corner balancing work done.

Thx

Not quite OC but San Pedro. Johnny's Auto Clinic has years of experience with all types of Mini mods and has a 4 wheel alignment rack on the premises.

I'm surprised nobody replied to this but there's a very good alignment and corner balance shop in Irvine called Lang Racing Development. They have a laser alignment system so you can see all the numbers as they are doing the adjustments and they will let you sit in the car while they do the alignment so the corner balance and alignment are accurate to what you'll be driving on track. They set up my Cooper S for me and had a couple suggestions on how I could setup the car to reduce corner exit understeer as much as possible (tough to do in our cars).

Their phone number is 949-667-1554. The owner Andrew has always been really helpful at explaining things over the phone and while they do the work.

Sounds interesting Bruce...what kind of services have you had them do on your Mini and what did they charge?

I may look into having them install and set up my next suspension package:

TSW Springs
Bump Stop Kit
HSport Rear Lower Control Arms
HSport Rear adjustable Sway Bar (25.5mm Competition Hollow)

I met the owner at a track event after I saw they were an AST distributor. They quoted me on some 4100s and even measured my current suspension to get the right length springs and to have the shock travel tailored to my car specifically. They did the install, corner balance, and alignment setup for track. They had some good ideas specifically for FWD track cars. They told me to record tire temperatures and make notes on the handling so they could dial it in even better next time I go back. That's the next thing on my list. Very reasonable prices and they were very detail oriented. I think everything was under 500 with the installation.

Wait I thought AST 4100s where about 2K? What was the $500 for...something else? Or was that just the labor for install, corner balance, and the alignment?

But even so...to pull all four wheels and swap out everything for coilovers and then do an alignment and set up all for $500, with guys that know what they are doing: I'm sold

Go to EAS

4015 E. Leaverton Court
Anaheim, CA 92807

http://www.europeanautosource.com/

One of the best vendors for BMWs on E90Post and was one of the shops that took part in the recent European Car Tuner GP Shootout. They can definitely address any of your needs from ordering parts, to performing dynos and corner balancing, etc etc.

But, if you didn't need install and just alignment and corner balance, I'd go with West End Alignment. Darrin and Chris do alignments by hand, no stupid laser machines can be as precise as these guys. They are top notch and they'll ask you what your driving style is and tailor your alignment based on your preferences.

I sent my1stR56 to them and he was blown away by their work and said their alignment improved his track time substantially.

I'm looking for the install and set up my next suspension package:

TSW Springs
Bump Stop Kit
HSport Rear Lower Control Arms
HSport Rear adjustable Sway Bar (25.5mm Competition Hollow)

...and I'm in north San Diego County, not that I wouldn't look for an excuse to drive any distance

Ah damn, I'm not too familiar with shops in the San Diego area, but I would highly recommend the guys at EAS for doing all that work you need. It'd be worth the drive.

Weighing A Wait

I've read in a few places about people who have changed springs and have seen an initial lowering but expect it to be a bit more when they 'settle' That being the case, does it make sense to wait a week or two after installing new suspension / springs for everything to settle before doing an alignment. Would a couple hundred miles be OK before actually doing the alignment?
