I have them as a second set for my MKV GTI. I used them for 2 track days and about 6000 miles of daily driving in between last summer, and I'll probably get 2-3 more track days out of them this year if I don't use them on the street at all.

I would NOT use them as a daily driver. The cornering and steering is very good, but they are EXTREMELY noisy when new, then just continue to get worse as they age. The ride is mediocre, and would be tolerable if the noise wasn't so off the charts bad. If you aren't doing and auto-x or track days, don't even consider them. Plus, they won't last much longer than 10,000 miles.

Great track tires though, I'd strongly recommend them for a second set.

I think you are referring to Star Specs, OP is asking about the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 a soon to be discontinued UHP tire. I have never tried them, I spoke to a guy at Just Tires in Socal that said they sucked, but who knows. I mean if they are dirt cheap and you don't have more coins, then get them. I'm sure they're better then most low budget Chinese tires out there (Ling Longs, Vampire, Nexen, Nankang, Wanli, Krapi, Sunny, etc)

Honestly the local Discount Tire had them in stock w 100 off. I'd rather get a solid street tire. Any suggestions? I bought the car w Michelin Pilot Exalto, they were decent overall. This is my only set on the car so I dont have any other experience w tires on the Coo S
