1. My passengers side front wheel is hopping around slightly under most driving conditions(cornering), and severely when hammering the corners. Bushing, shock, anyone have this issue and know the fix? It doesn't happen on driver's side.
2. When running A/C or heater, the fan is making a loud noise. I notice it when sitting at stop lights. Replace the entire fan? This is my first mini and these cars seem to have many electrical issues, so I figured id ask for help.

This car is a 6 speed w 73K miles.

 

The loud fan noise is normal. All MINIs have an auxillary fan that kicks in when the air conditioner is on that makes a noise like the forces of hell have been unleashed!

 

This is a rubbing and almost grinding sound though..

 

Sounds like the control arm bushings may be bad. Mileage is about right; mine went bad around 80K on my old '02 MCS. Bavarian Auto sells new ones for $57.95 each. Or you could upgrade them to Alta solid casters (which are pressed into the bushing housing). They run about $230, but they will never go bad again.

Also check the ball joints in the control arms. In rare cases, the rubber seal could be busted and grease has leaked out. Bavarian Auto has inner ball joints for $97.95 each, and the outer ones are $79.95 each.
