My g'f's mini coopers hid headlight went out. 1st thing i did was to switch bulbs to the other side to see if they both are working. The bulbs are not the problem. So we took it to the stealership where she has a extended warranty. They said that she needed to replace the whole headlamp. They mentioned that the control unit is working but the headlamp is not. There are 3 components to a HID system ballast, igniter and bulb. The warranty will cover all components except the headlamp. Can someone confirm that the igniter can't be replaced with out replacing the whole headlamp? that's what the dealership said. They also wanted $700 for it.
