Suspension Aftermarket Motor Mounts
Aftermarket Motor Mounts
I have a 2005 with a toasted motor mount. I understand there are some aftermarket replacements. Can anyone speak to them, how much better they are or aren't than OEM, and where would be the best place to get one? I know the OEM is cheaper but not if I have to keep replacing it.
I bought 1 of the tsw mounts and can feel the difference. It gives you more noise inside the cabin but i would say it's worth it. It's easy to install and i would cleand the hydrolic fluid first with rubbing alchol before installing the new mount.
Had my motor mount replaced under warranty at about 10k miles, now at 45k it is leaking again.
Question on the TSW option... I noticed it attaches to the strut tower, does that mean it is not compatible with a strut tower brace? Specifically the M7 brace?
Thanks,
-Rob

We keep the TSW mount in stock and use them at the shop. Haven't had any problems with them.

I've remained pretty skeptical given that they were never tested nor promised to perform in ambient temps below 0 deg F (and I fully appreciate why TSW wouldn't feel the need) and I have visions of cracking the mount material on one of these -20 F mornings up here on the tundra.
Way, what is your professional opinion on performance and reliability in extreme cold weather climates?

I wouldn't think it's a problem.

Gil-galad, Honestly I think your going to have to test it out. I haven't had one fail yet. But it can't be any worse than the OEM mount.
As for other poly bushings I haven't had any problems from customers in cold climates or even Canada. I'm not worried about using the Poly bushings in the cold, most of the bushings are inserts anyway.
