First Post... 2nd Gen Questions

Greetings all, I have been bit by the Mini bug and am currently looking for a 07-10 MCS. There are allot of these cars out there. How can I tell from online pictures which options a car may have if they are not listed in the ad? For instance, cruise control. Do all 07 and up MCS' have cruise? Some of the cars I am looking at in the pics have buttons on the steering wheel and some do not. Do the cars without steering wheel controls have cruise control? Some have chrome trim around the guages and dials, others do not. A general breakdown of the packages would be great. Also, are the 07-10s identical? Were there any changes to the interior or drivetrain?

My plan is to stretch my budget as far as I can to buy a car that is still under the factory bumper to bumper warranty.

Love the site and look forward to learning as much as I can...

Cruise control is an option on all models. It comes standard with the optional Multi Function Steering Wheel (MFSW). Audio controls are also standard on the MFSW. If the steering wheel has buttons on it, it is a MFSW. Additional options that can be added to the MFSW are BlueTooth and voice control.

There are numerous trim options; the chrome trim being one of them. To see all of the available options on the 2010 models go to MINUSA and "build" a car.

2007 was a model change for the coupe designated R56. Clubman was earlier, cabrio later. I don't remember the dates. There have been minor changes since, not to the drivetrain or to the interior (except for trip options).

Good luck on finding your dream car at a price you can afford.

And welcome to the forum.

And starting with the 2010s, the MFSW is now standard in the S model...so cruise is standard.

I was wondering about the MFSW as I test drove a base 2010 Mini. No options and it had the MFSW. My salesgirl said cruise was now standard on all Minis, even the non-MCS. This one stickered at like $19,800 or something...

Looks like it was optional on all previous years so I need to keep on eye on that. I have to have cruise for sure....

So many used Minis out there right now, it's unreal... Fun looking though..

Go to the MINI site and build a bunch of cars in different configurations and you will lean all the options and packages.

There is no gen 2 Clubman because there was no gen 1 Clubman

I just bought a 08 w/ 16k miles 3 months ago w/ the following options for 20k (28k sticker):

Cold WEather Package
Sport Package
MF Steering Wheel
Autodim Rear View Mirror
MINI driving lights
Rubber floor mats
HIFI Stereo
Pano sunroof
Heated seats and mirrors and washer jets
It is an S, did I mention that?

Bla Bla Bla but I got a heck of a deal after looking for 4 months and wanting a GP edition 1st Gen, I bought my '08 MCS and could not be happier! Just be patient.
