The nozzles. They suck!

I despise how the windshield washer nozzles don't spread the fluid, it just comes out shooting in a straight jet Is this a common complaint? Are there good replacements? I looked around but wasn't able to find anything conclusive. Figured someone here would be able to make a suggestion.
06MCS but I'm sure it doesn't make a difference.

I have to agree with you. When I am at interstate speed they work OK, but just OK. At slow speed they do suck. The ones on our Forester spay a pattern that covers the windshield very well regardless of speed. Oh well, I'm sticking with the MINI.

I agree. The only thing I like about mine is their heated. Besides that, I prefer the ones on my girl friend's Honda Civic, where they mist across the wind shield.

Yeah! And it comes out so hard you can hear it hit the windshield pretty aggressively. My right nozzle keeps getting clogged or something, one of the two jets in the right nozzle keeps not shooting high up enough, sometimes it doesn't even hit the windshield. I have to get the high pressure spray wand to clean it and then it works. Sigh. Apart from the clogging, in slow traffic, they work pretty well though....

So is there anything we can replace the nozzles with? Anyone know of an aftermarket fit?

I have used aftermarket nozles on all my previous cars because I can't stand the streams, I much prefer the mist type.

This is the only car I haven't changed the nozles on becuase I don't want to loose the heating element on my nozles.

My question is, Are the nozles themselves heated, or is the heating element directly under the nozles.

If the nozles themselves aren't heated, I will start looking for a "misting" type that will fit on Butters TODAY!

Does anyone know?

I don't have the cold weather package so that is a non-issue for me.

Where did you purchase the aftermarket nozzles and are replacement nozzles available for the MINI?

^^I use a small sewing needle & they work fine. Just adjust...spray...adjust...spray. When your done reaiming them, fill your wahser tank^^^

The replacement nozles were not MINI specific. I used to search all the chain auto stores (AutoZone type places) & that is where I found them for my previous cars. Usually around $10 - $20. (LED cost extra & get you a nice ticket for Improper lighting...LOL) <--I've grown up since then

I don't know if MINI's nozles have the universal fit as all my other cars have had. I have never removed my current nozles because of the heating element.

The universal replacements have worked flawlessly on my VW, Ford, Chevy & Chrysler.

I used a medium-size sewing needle, one that would fit a reasonable ways inside the nozzle - a few tries, after some around town and interstate driving and got them to a happy medium (for me, anyway)...

My 300M had similar nozzles, slightly diff shape, that had 3 nozzles in stead of 2; might try those when I get really bored - and FWIW I never had good luck w/ the fan spray style, particularly at, um, 'highway' speeds...

Oh, and it doesn't take much movement to do it...

i'll give it a whirl. i've not ever had good ones. just better in area. we had an fx45 that litterally poured water on from jets on the wiper arm but it didn't really out do any others..
vw is tipped to have a revolutionary wiperless cleaning system on the passat replacement. maybe it'll change everything and we won't have to worry about the these crap jets or the crap mini wipers?
