Water from the roof pours in the car?

So can I expect every time the car is parked in the rain I am going to get soaked. When I sat down the car leans towards the drive and the water all comes pouring as the roof sheads all the water onto the drivers lap. Tried jumping while closing the door on the way in and you still get wet. The window is cracked open automatically to let the water in. I am talking what seems like a 1/2 gallon. Is it just me?

If you're tall enough and didn't get the sport suspension, push down on the driver's side roof gutter/roof to simulate you getting in. Doesn't solve the whole problem, but gets rid of a lot of the water.

When I first got mine, I made the mistake of going through a drive-thru in a down pour. There was a stream of water pouring on the sunroof... then as I rolled down the window it all poured into the car. Stupid rain gutter design.

Same here. Here in Malaysia, when paying for parking at the boom gate or getting a pass into a secured carpark, drop the window and the rain pours in....

At least you have a hardtop More then once my wife has been caught in her Cabrio on the road top down when it started to rain. Keep going and it does well at keeping dry with the wind flow, slow down or stop for a light and all games are off for the 14 seconds it takes to put the top up

Yeah its just the way it is lol.

I always run my finger along the top of the window before opening the door to get the hangers off the gutter... sometimes i blow on the roof to get the giant drops to roll off...then its a matter of quickly getting in. Im usually dry

Get a Clubman, the "dune lines" keep you dry!

Has anyone found a fix for this yet? Getting soaked when I open the door in my 2008 cooper S just sucks.

I'm no longer surprised at the lengths people will go to complaining about non-issues about their MINI.
And then we wonder why people show up assuming that MINIs are nothing but trouble. This ranks lower than the silly "I can't see stoplights".

It's raining, therefore it's wet. EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT! Better hurry up and tweet it too!

considering my 2003 R53 did not do this and all 8 of my previous cars before did not do this in the rain..... I think it's a valid concern that annoys me

The little cargo nets on the backs of the seats are perfect for holding a dry towel
