2006 mini checkmate S ?

hello, just picked up today a 2006 mini checkmate S model, with the checkmate package did any engine upgrades come with it? this one has a airbox lid that reads john coopers works? it looks like it still has the stock exhaust, with beer can tips.
thanks for any info on the checkmate.
mike

The Checkmate package does not touch the engine. The airbox is at least upgraded to the JCW, which is a good thing.

Enjoy your checkmate!

I personnally think the Checkmate was the best of the special editions when you consider the interior package and clean graphics.

Congrats on your purchase! How many miles are on the odometer?

all my searches come up with that suggestion also. well i drive 2 hours a day, how long does it need? still do not understand how? there is only one contact point? unless it is completing the electrical circuit when the key is inserted? like a simple pull circuit?

ok here is the technical info
The new key also had three buttons, but, the LED did not carry over. is permanantly sealed and contains a rechargeable battery. Supposedly the battery should last the life of the car. The battery is recharge when in the ignition via the EWS ring antenna.

Recharging the battery in the new key fob. If not used the key will be discharged in approximately 18 months. It requires approximately 30 hours to fully charge a completely discharged battery. The remote can be operated 15 times after being charged for 30 minutes. Charging only occurs when the ignition is in the Accessory or On positions. It does not charge in the Off position.

Awsome Color combo and interior.
I have basically the same car, without the Checkmate package...Space Blue, Silver roof, Silver Checkmate Bonnet Stripe, silver mirror caps.
I'm just missing the seats, steering wheel and fender badges. I guess I got the left overs.

note that if you drop the key fob on the ground the weight of the battery inside will often break one of the solder joints connecting it to the pwb. Open it up and do some microsurgery
