Dang I was expecting better numbers than that. How much is Jan charging for R56 tuning for the new year?

Realistically, 16hp and 22ft/lbs is as much as you can hope to see with no other changes to hardware. The tiny scroll runs out of breath pretty quickly, which is the first of several limiting factors of the stock R56.

What did you pay for the tune?

Still waiting for RMW big turbo kit and "jesus head" for R56. Sending good vibes Jan's way...

Nice realistic gains

I assume it wasn't dynoed on a Dynapak going by the numbers.

Chompers car did have the strongest gains ,would love to see how his car would do with a downpipe and a factory jcw exhaust.I would guess 200ish whp.

my car only gained 10whp and 9 whtq running a rmw meth beta tune.

The funny thing is I of course am the one that drives like a granny. When we dyno'd my car we watched the exhaust blow out soot that had built up because I don't get on it often enough. I'm trying to correct that problem now of course.

Shane

get a jcw turbo and map sensor first then worry about the head and the tune.

For those that remember, I couldn't pull any decent numbers when I drove all the freakin' way down from NC for that tune.

For some reason, I just wasn't making boost.

I left you guys disappointed and frustrated that I wasted 200.00 in dyno time, gas and 2 days of driving only to find out I now have a problem.

Well, the problems got worse.

I left Orland and just as I was getting off I-4 to get onto I-95, I smelled oil.

I pulled over and had burned ANOTHER hole in my valvecover. (just as I did less than a month before that at Roebling Road in Atlanta)

Though I had to pull over a hundred times to keep checking oil levels, I drove the car all the way back to NC.

When I got back home, the next day I pulled the heatshield off and found out where my boost was going. (and why I keep melting valvecovers)

I was missing 2 bottom bolts that hold the downpipe onto the turbo and the third remaining bolt had backed off 1/8" leaving a gap thus allowing the system to lose boost and melt my valvecover.

Not a good weekend.

Why did the bolts back out. Didn't the dealer find your problem the first time.

NO!!!! What happened was I had the car towed to Charleston Mini. The techs said they had never seen anything like it so they called the warranty rep.

The warranty rep said he had never seen anything like it so he called a field engineer.

The field engineer was a azzhat, he supposedly hooked up his tool and found out I had a tune.

So he voided my warranty on my drivetrain, had the dealership replace the valvecover and sent me on my way.

I paid to have it fixed and was shuffled out the door.

When it happened again and I found out what the problem was, I called the GM who is a friend of mine and he felt terrible. He felt his techs replaced the part without checking out why it happened.

So he's refunding all my money and I was going to start a new post cause after that, I got my warranty back.

Had nothing to do with the tune, I've had the tune on the car for 12K miles and not a hiccup, the field engineer was an idiot.

Glad to hear a good result from your dealership and MINI stepping in for a customer. I've worked at dealerships for 40 years and know how field reps can be at times. Glad to hear your all fixed.
