Just an Observation

Is it just me or does it appear we have no moderators anymore? This site is a pretty important part of my MINI life and I truly enjoy reading everyone's posts and questions and answers. I've learned a lot, and I've been a mechanic for over 40 years. But it surely would be a better place to browse if posts were started in the correct category and not the way it seems to be now. I'm trying to be very cautious here and not offend any of my great NAM and MINI friends, but if everyone started their post in the correct section, it would make for a much more pleasurable and usable forum.

Just my 'old fart' opinion.

YD

A better forum for this topic would be in Site feedback

Guess I fell into the same problem that I was complaining about, but I never read "Site Feedback". Sorry

I think most people try to put posts in the right place.

I don't find any problem at all.

I just start out at "NEW POSTS" and anything fresh is there. If I need something I wanted to go to again I just go to the related forum. I don't think this NAM forum could be any easier then this. There are specific forums to cover many things.

The "NAM" forum in my opinion is so easy and stupid proof that I really can't find a single thing to complain about.

You can report threads/posts that are in the wrong forum. Just click on the triangle icon in the top right corner of the post. This will help the Moderators know it is in the wrong place.

I do the same, but I think a lot of our visitors and posters go directly to the forum they're interested in so as not to have to wade thru all the new stuff.......

I try to seek out old threads that are relative to a question that I'd like to post rather than just start a new one. If I'm doing something wrong, please let me know...I certainly don't want to offend or make the site less usable.

You gotta pm mods for issues, now, like someone else mentioned most mods on Motoring Alliance.com, now.

We're here. But it's impossible for a half-dozen moderators to read every post that's made here. We have literally thousands of posts daily.

Also, NAM prides itself on being generally self-moderated. This means if you see something out of line, in the wrong spot, etc, go ahead and report it - it will get handled much more quickly when it's reported than if you just wait for one of us to stumble across it. The poster doesn't get in trouble if a post is made in the wrong place - I know some people are afraid to hit the report button for fear of getting someone in trouble. That's not the case - trouble comes from not interacting nicely with others, generally

So we try, but again, it's impossible to catch it all. Please report!
