I changed my interior from anthracite to alloy patina and my salesperson put the change through but said my car had changed status so no guarantee. But she said the change was accepted so looks promising but would not know until Mini arrives at dealer. Is it possible to change after arrival if I had to?

Not after the car is made. Are you sure you wanna go for the Alloy Patina? Have you seen it in person? Really think about this one because I still think the Anthracite will give you a much better look and durability in the long run. The Alloy Patina has the white silver door pulls and dashboard legs and those are guaranteed to peel and look like poop after a few months.

I guess it came down to the lesser of three evils. I don't really like the shiny look or the glittery appearance of the anthracite. Patina not the best but liked the matt finish a bit better....

I have not had any issues with my alloy patina after 16 months of ownership. The look is not that bad IMHO.

You can change it after your car arrives, but expect to PAY BIG to have it done...best bet if you don't like it is to wait to see what the aftermarket comes up with.

Alloy patina fan here too. I dislike shiny, be it silver or anthracite. For me the alloy sets the proper tone for the MINI interior. A bit Fritz Lang Metropolis for the 21st century. Hope ya get it.

The frustrating thing is not knowing if the change went through. Now that I hae made the decision for the patina, I realy don't want the anthracite. Seems like there should be a way to find out before it arrives in Atlanta!

When is/was your build date; how long before did you try to change it.
The complete interior unit, and the doors, are built by a supplier to MINI and delivered for insertion into the car.
I would expect that if you put the change in within a couple of weeks of build date, it would *not* happen ...

Another alloy fan here! Only problem is the silver on the door grab handles.

God speed.

Merbel,

When the car goes into production status your MA will know exactly how it will be built. If the car is in 150 or later status, have the MA run a spec sheet on the car and you will know what the interior surfaces will be.

Good luck.

Thanks. My salesperson now says she should know in a couple of days if the change went through...

i love the alloy, but they should do everything in the alloy.
i don't know why they don't do the down tubes and accent pieces in silver! that's lame!

Yes, the interior seems to have lots of weaknesses. As I said, my choice of the alloy was the lesser of three evils...
