Trim/seal came off the hood and now can't get it back on

The chrome trim got disconnected from the rubber seal. Anyone know an easy way to reattach it? I am having a hell of time trying to get the trim back in the rubber piece.

Tried popping and sliding it but it does not want to seat.

Are you talking about the beltline?

I think if you take a credit card or something flat to pry the bottom or top side of the rubber it should make it a little easier to get the chrome piece back in.

Anyone dealt with this **** before? I got it back in the rubber seal then it was impossible to put back on the car. So I took the chrome piece off, put the rubber trim back on the car and tried to put the trim on that way without any luck.

In the end I just left the chrome piece off.

Ugh
