Aux Jack static problem

Lately I am getting static from the speakers whenever I connect my iPhone or iPod to the Aux Jack on my 2007 MINI S. It was fine for almost 2 years. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the aux jack box and said it is fine. I bring it back home and test it same static problem. I thought my cable was bad. So I even changed the cable. But still same problem. I took the car back to the dealer and they said its fine. The tech who worked on my car showed it to me with his iPhone and iPod and there was no static. I tried my iPhone and the static came back. I thought it was my phone but when I come home and try it with a different iPod and a different phone static still comes up. Any one has any idea why this wierd problem is coming up and what can be done?

Are you running your iPhone/iPod with its battery, or connected to the cigarette lighter?

Did you try cleaning the contacts of the iphone and the aux jack?

Are you using a headphone jack cable, or connecting it via the dock connector? Might not even be specifically related to your problem, but if you're using the headphone jack and not the dock connector, you're feeding a much lower quality signal.. sound quality benefits greatly by coming directly out of the dock connector.

True. Google for a dock connector instead. You'll be glad you did. It evens out the output signal so you don't have to mess with the volume on the iPod.
