Will this offset + width fit my 03' MCS + what tires? (17x 7.5 +30 17x8 +24)

As you can see guys, I'm a noob with the whole offset deal. Thought I'd seek some advice from seasoned vets on here for some help.

Looking to purchase some wheels and this was the size

17x 7.5 +30 17x8 +24 ....

question is will they fit, rub? if so what can I do

and what tires would you recommend?

If you can help me out, I'd definitely would be grateful.

Thanks

But the R56 has A LOT more room though, some have run 235/40-17 on both cars, but the R53 needed some cutting to fit.

Most MINI offset sizes for 17s would be 42 to 48 can use spacers to push out-but can't do the opposite.
BTW: What wheels are those on odd sizes?

Once you go past 36 offset, inside wheel well modification and possible wheel arch modifications will become frequent....

I ran 36" offset on set of 16's using 195/55/16 tires and had no issues, beyond 36 you are taking your chances....

Anything ET 35 or lower offset will stick out. Your ET 24 sticks out 1/2 an inch further than ET 35 on the same wheel width.

Go to MotoringUnderground.Com and ask the wheel Gurus there..
similar to what you are asking. here is the thread.

Ppl on this forum are running 9" wide wheels and they're is alot of good infromation on offset and chamber settings to make the wheels fit. But good luck in your choice of wheels.

p.s i am in the same boat as you. Been doing alot of research on wheel sizes/offset/chamber/coilies/etc..

ET=Offset

ET is a measurment of the wheels offset. The offset of a wheel is the measurement in mm from its hub mounting surface to the center line of the wheel. So as an example the offset (ET) that you are talking about 20-24ET would "push" the wheel out, whereas a 45-48ET would tuck it in the wheel well more. Take a look at this:
Wheel Offset Calulator
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Btw: that offset might be for e34, make sure you have a 4x100 bolt patern.

Oh Boy, now I'm confused. I currently have an offset of 40mm. My rear BBK hits the inside of the wheel so I can't use it. If I add a 5mm spacer, will this move the wheel closer to the centerline? I'm soooo confused.

Firstly....spacers move the wheel outward. You SUBTRACT the width of the spacer from the original offset. A 5mm spacer makes a 40mm offset wheel become a 35mm offset wheel. As offsets become lower, they move further outwards from the car.

In terms of the wheel fitment....It's an aggressive stance, but it will fit. You'll want to run 205/40 or 205/45 tires with some tires that provide enough stretch for you. 205's are a very mild stretch on 8's, but it will be enough to give you some clearance. I'd also advise that you leave the stock camber (inherent in the rear) for a little added clearance. The rear's will poke very slightly, but it will be a great look and shouldn't cause any rubbing. I've helped with wheels fitments far more aggressive than this that don't rub so you'll be fine.

Tires that stretch well:

Falken 512
Falken 912
Falken 452
Dunlop DZ101
Toyo T1r
