I have used the grease and smeared it on the tracks and that works but the best for us is taking a soda straw,some greaseless lube(in a can),put the straw in the track-pointed towards the rear of the track, put the red straw type nozzle in the can and spray the lube into the soda straw. Been doing that every couple of months for over three years with no drama. I also lube the rear hatch hinges at the same time.
