R57 MINI made for seatbelts???
MINI made for seatbelts???
The driver seat belt does not roll up after merely 1600 miles. Also they seem to get blocked between the door and the seat. Also the colour painted side moldings on the door get scratched very easily. I fear the belt roll up system will need to be replaced ! Anyone similar problems ?
It seems very easy to get a twist in the seat belt and that seems to discourage it from rolling away properly. Mine was actually delivered from new with a twist and it took me a few days to work it out!

seatbelt has never retracted
I need to get it back to the dealer to have it checked out. I picked it up on July 11 and the seat belt has not retracted since.
And there were no twist in it. In two weeks it has not worked it self out.
Only issue with my Mini. sofar

Facing similar issue here - both with driver and passenger seatbelts. Seatbelt does roll up - but tends to get stuck near the top of the seat. So often when I shut the door - the metal clasp region gets caught between the door and the seat - denting both the passenger door molding and the seat.
seat belt
The reason the little plastic bridge is on the seat belt is so that you can fit the belt to you. If this piece is in the proper place which is near the buckle---then the buckle retracts all the way to it and the buckle is away from any door panel insert and does no damage when close door. For some reason this i not explained anywhere.

That did not fix my problem. Saw that solution before posting. The little bridge is the correct position. I was at the dealer Thursday and they ordered a new seatbelt for me. T hanks for the reply though, good to know Mini owners are helping other owners.
