Probably depends on why one got into MINIs in the first place. I don't see the iQ (or the Yaris or the Fiat 500) as direct head-to-head competition for MINI, but in some areas they do compete with (and even surpass) MINI. Again, depends what you find attractive in the MINI. This should not come as a shock...more as a compliment. The performance-oriented will still find the overall package of the MINI quite attractive, but that may become more and more of an exclusive group. I suspect MINI/BMW has this in mind and will still lean heavily on MINI's performance and customization aspects.
I drive a MINI, which at one point was the smallest modern car in america and yet the first thing that came to mind about it was "that thing is a death trap". What the heck is up with me?
They're so awesome!! I really can't wait till they come out over here. My fiance is planning on buying one. (PS: They'll be labeled as the Scion iQ when they bring them over)
