Cnet Review of 09 Cabrio

Normally I enjoy Cnet reviews & I have watched all the reviews for MINI, but they don't seem to give ANY love to the new Cabrio.
Video --> http://cnettv.cnet.com/2009-mini-coo...-50073567.html
It made me a little sad

Westy experts, you have to love them. He makes some good points.

I think he missed the main point overall, people who buy Cooper MINI Cabrios are buying for the convertible first then some mileage and handling.

I think he got that if you want all the MINI experience you buy and S, S with JCW options or the JCW Cabrio.

Perhaps MINI should pony up a JCW Cabrio for him to review and publish.

I watched the video. Brian Cooley had the same, simple minded (IMO) type of remarks about the Clubman a little while back. Why he does what he does, I'll never know. Nothing seems to make him happy. Always some snide remarks and very cynical. That's why I dropped the subscription to his "car tech" podcast.

Ouch!! I actually love my Simone and have a lot of fun driving her. I especially appreciate the "smile" factor that comes in handy after a long, exhausting, crazy day.

By the way...he dogged out the keyfob, but he later said the car he drove had the premium package. So that means he had the comfort access. He didn't have to put it into the slot, so he made himself do two steps instead of one!!

... but I think he was very fair (not nice, but fair) about some things... the 2nd gen audio system and controls.... the openometer... the performance of the auto tranny in the justacooper....

Regarding the rear windows... he's just a whiner. Regarding the handling... he just doesn't get it.

Park it beside a PT cruiser convertible if you want to put it in proper context... then you can see what "a mess" looks like.
