first try with bike rack
I acquired my Mini by traing in a Honda Element that I loved. The reason I bring this up was the Element was outfitted with a roof rack and hitch for a bike rack for camping with my small family.
In any case, I purchased a Yakima SuperJoe3 (maybe the KingJoe??) from REI in anticipation of a camping trip next weekend. I think I asked the sales person 14 times if the rack would scratch my car since I had never used a trunk mount bike rack before (always roof or hitch).
Well, it worked out fine, the rack went on fairly easy (I ended up using the glass/plastice straps on the top) and carried my wifes bike back from the cuty without scratching or denting my new car
Next test is my Yakima Space Cadet cargo box on the factory mini rails.
