GPS Newbie needs Garmin (255w?) Advice
I'm a 1st time GPS user and need some purchase advice por favor. I've been studying CNet and Amazon (and visited Staples today), but by now I'm getting a bit loopy and would covet the advice of my trusted MINI fraternity.
Budget's around $150~200. Don't (think I) need Bluetooth (MINI has it!) or Traffic (always traffic in L.A.!) but I *think* I want text-to-speech.
I'm leaning towards a Garmin, though I can't articulate any intelligent reason. Staples had the 255w for $180, Amazon a bit less. I guess also there's the 255 which is narrower (a better fit for the MINI interior?) and about $20 cheaper. I plan on using the device in multiple vehicles.
Stepping it up to the 265wt seems overstepping my basic needs.
The TomTom 125 seems an inexpensive alternative, but no text-to-speech.
Also - does the Garmin 'beanbag friction-mount' play well with the MINI?
Guys, gals, thanks for your help!

Get the nuvi! I have a nuvi 260w and really like it. The wide screen is nice, but not required. It has text to speech and works well. The beanbag works well for normal driving. Haven't had it move from were I put it.
