Looking for a volunteer!
Hey guys,
Ok i need some one to volunteer your car for a DIY write up for the MINI5280 news letter. im going to be doing a series of these through out the summer. they are going to be just simple easy routine things such as oil/spark plug changes and a DIY brake job. Right now im looking for a R50 or R53 owner that needs their brakes done. I would use my car but i just did the brakes like 2 months ago. Labor is free but parts are on you. Please PM me or Chuck (MiniMaybee) or you can contact me directly on the phone at (720) 878-5485 or E-mail at tommy_zito@mac.com. If you have any questions on the parts you need to buy feel free to contact me and i will walk you through some options and help find you the best deal. Thanks!

Maybe we can get you down to the MINI5280 Garage Day on June 20th at Byran's house. Bound to be some real knuckle-bustin going on that day!
My brakes pads are still at 7mm so they are good for another couple of years (I never use them anyway). But what I would like to see/participate in is a brake fluid change. I think this would be easy and good to do.

IMHO, Blue is good for knowing when fluid is bled all through to the calipers. Pricey, perhaps not nesessary for non track cars, I had a hard time finding it local, oh and pricey! I put Valvoline synthetic per Texas Speedworks in mine and my Dad's car. @ $6.00 a qt, and I still have one qt left.

(yes there is 3 of them
) ill call and talk to some of the guys at schomp to see if they have any good suggestions on what could be used.I would love to help you on that, however i dont know any thing about it. I know how to turn a wrench pretty well
sorry man. If you need any mechanical work i can do my best to help you!
Count me interested in brake work (replace fluid, possibly pads) on my '05 R53 (46k miles). I've done some minor work, but not brakes. The brakes were (worn) close but not close enough to be serviced by the dealer when my warranty ran out Nov 2008. I'm interested in upgrading the brake fluid and possibly the pads, if needed. May want to do an oil change at same time too. My garage (and floor jack and 2 jack stands) is available or I can go to Miniconcarne's or Tommy's, depending on the dates.
