Cruize Night in Hopewell, NJ May 8th 2009
Found out about this one from the Lotus message board which had the most information about the event:
http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f96/...-2009-a-72261/
And heres a page about the night itself:
http://hopewelltoday.com/
And heres photos from last years, a Classic MINI was there apparently:

Looks interesting and an excuse to pick up a Lotus catalog. Event runs from "6:00PM until 9:00ish." acc to the Lotus dealership posting.

Ohh nice, you just bought one. Did you get a good deal on it due to the economy? Where did you order it and what did it set you back?
I'm thinking about a 2 seater mid engine car prematurly as I haven't even paid off the MINI yet but I'm still drooling over the thought of getting a second play car for the weekends.
I quite like the look of those Lotus esprit which I just saw over the weekend. Its a shame they no longer make them.
On the S2000 forum, theres been alot of guys selling or trading up thier S2000's for the Elise/Exige. Mid-engine top-town cars are hella fun !
No no, I did not get one yet
I wish!!!! If i buy a new one then I'm gonna buy it from Ed, at Sports and Specialists Cars in Hopewell. Or I may get a slightly used one since they are going for almost 20k less. I'm keeping my eye open on the lotus forum for a real clean non-tracked car for sale, but I must wait til mid to late summer. Don't want to put myself in a bad situation just yet, haha. Plus I still have to sell a car or two of mine...

Christian, sorry for being nosy but how will you fund your supercar of choice? Have you been saving for a very long time or are you an MD, ESQ, or broker?
I plan on taking the route that my neighbor took when he got his Porsche 944. That being saving for a long stretch of time. In 7 years I should be good not counting this one. Maybe by then I could get a bearly driven used Ferrari Testarossa from the 80s... Then again I'd rather buy new w/ my choice of options so it would be Porsche Cayman S or Lotus Elise.
What do you think of the Esprit? Those are so much more attractive looking then the newer ones IMOP due to the retro 80s look.

I'm worried about this. Looks like this thing is going to get rained out. My car doesn't look anything close to nice due to the rain and tree crap from the week as well. Me going to this doesn't look promissing at this point :(
Trending Topics
I was there, the weather was perfect. I took lots of photos which I'll upload over the weekend.
Highlights:
- 3 Ferraris on display.
- Classic MINI on display owned by someone who works at the Lotus dealer.
- Many Lotus Esprits on display by their owners.
- MG enthusiests there were very friendly and talkative.
- The creepy "haunted house" on the right hand side of the Lotus dealership. Looks like something Fred Mahana would have built (http://www.fredmahana.com/index.htm)
Lows:
- No fish and chip stands or any professional food vending stands. Just creepy hot dog venders and some restarants that looked too expensive (no problem for the Spyder owners).
- 6 page long Lotus catalog (Porsche on the other hand wrote a text book (catalog) for EACH model they sell). Kinda disapointing.
- I saw an MG from the show broke down on the way home.

From what I've read about other Lotus events, they are usually the cars breaking down:

I'm thrilled to own a car that I can count on to get me there and back.
