Dead bugs in Speedo

Ok, so I am trading in my '05 Hot Orange Cooper for an '09 Interchange Yellow S. In the next couple of weeks I plan on taking a full weekend to detail him. The big problem that I have is I have quite a few dead bugs in the speedo. I guess that is just the way it is when you motor topless in swampland. I know that the air vents just screw off, but i can't figure out for the life of me how to get to the bugs.

I am calling on the collective wisdom of the MINI community for help. Any ideas/information would GREATLY appreciated.

Here is a link to a thread on changing the guage faces on MINIs. It has great instructions on how to disassemble the speedo. It's pretty easy.

This thread title is just wrong.

Good luck with the bugs and trade in! I had an '06 hot orange and am now getting an '09 Interchange yellow.

I wouldnt spend a whole lot of time on the detail, its not going to give you a higher trade in value. I would just wash and vacuum that its. Save your self some time.

I feel very guilty about trading in Julius. It's like I'm giving away the old dog for a new puppy. I am hoping if it looks spectacular, it will get a nicer home. I would hate to see some young kid trash him. That would break my heart!!

This thread title made me laugh out loud.

Good luck getting rid of the bugs, and hope Julius gets a good home.

Orange Julius...good one!
