Playing around with some night photography

I went out the other night just to screw around and try some new things. Overall I'm pretty happy with a few of them... not so much on some others but hey, that's what experimenting is all about.

Let me know what you guys think.

I really liked this spot so I did a typical shot here.

Thanks everyone, I'm glad you enjoyed them. For #1 I had a tripod set up in the back seat jammed in place by sliding the front seats as far back as possible. Then I had it set up to take a 30 second exposure while I was on my way home for the night. This is my favorite out of about 9 to 10 other ones that I did (it wasn't a very far drive at all). Nothing was added to it in post.

#3 was a combination of 2 shots, one with the hood up and one with the hood down. I also used a flashlight to brighten up the back corner a bit since my flashes were much cooler than the ambient light.

#5 is very similar to #3 in technique as it is two shots combined to make one. The first shot is another 30 second exposure taken as I pulled up to the spot where the 2nd shot was taken. I had the car parked pretty far down the street and I used the 10 second timer to hit the button and sprint down to the car, turn on the lights, and drive up. I'm going to do it again and try taking the still shot first and then instead of driving up to the spot, I will back away from it... I think it will give me the same effect that I am looking for.

If there are any more questions, please fire away. Thanks again!
