Introducing my 2004 MCS... I think it's one of a kind

It's got just a little under 50k miles on it.. it had some minor scrapes and dings.. i had some money,, so i decided to get it cleaned up and repainted. Do the whole thing.. some stripes would be nice..

and while it was at it... shave the doors..

and suicide doors!!!

say what ever you wish.. but I just love it..

WoW ! I aM sPeEcHlEsS.............in awe.

Love the color, the stripes, lights and set up, painted trim pieces, rear badging, M7 Grilles and the Suicide doors ?.....please tell me these are photo-shopped in like that, had no idea that was even possible with a MINI.

Your MINI should be in the next issue of MC2...

Nice work.

Now THAT is crazy... I've wanted to do pivoting, Lambo-style doors for a while now, but I'm loving the suicide style. I have a cabrio though, so I'd bet I can't do this same thing on my car... Nice work - way to "You-a-Fi" that baby.

Those suicide doors are killer. We need a lot more pics. And we need you to be at MOTD this year.

The suicide doors are nice. Never seen that set up before. The color is rich...

Am I the only one that notices that huge gap between the hood and the front bumper? Something isn't aligned right there.

Maybe just the angle of the pic? Nice job! I havent seen driving lights that close together before either. Well executed!

+1 for more pics, especially of the doors from the side. Maybe a close-up of the hinge work, etc.

Did you use the Auto Lock kit for the door shaving? I have been thinking of the idea of shaving some things. Had it done on my air bagged truck. Give us more details!

That certainly is whack! Weird, cool--I'd love to see it in person. The unique mantel is passed to you, for sure.

at the time this project started, they did not yet have a "kit". but yes basically, the same parts.

the solenoids for the door operate off the cars locking system. so i use the same key as before, but instead of unlocking the doors, it opens them!!!

The paint job alone was around $12K....

the re- engineering and hanging of the doors cost close to $10k!!!

not for the faint of heart.. but i was determined to get this done.

the work was done by a custom hot rod restorer in Van Nuys

Hopefully for your sake you have inside connections and you are quoting retail value instead of money out of your pocket!
