mariomllr, didn't see this post before responding under the EPL thread. Why are you going with a gt28 turbo rather than a KO 3 hybrid?

Would appreciate more info on the injector switch and reasoning behind it.

Cheers!

Where are you having this done? Please make sure we see the real dyno sheet this time!!!
We used to hang out at EDT along time ago.
Are you still in Rowayton?

Does this relate to the DIMSPORT tune?

I feel like we are on the right track here seems like multiple people are getting there R56's tuned at the same time.

mariomllr, our cars are direct injection and I wasn't aware of larger injectors for the R56 as you mentioned in a previous post. Care to share info???

Yes it does. Hope it works.

I, however, would not be the first mover on this so I will just keep reading the threads at this time.

Mariomllr... not to discredit you,
but you aren't sharing many details with all these recent posts...

first you talk about the boost increase with no write up/back up/supporting details besides shorten the arm @ wastegate by tightening screw,

now we have a "perfect" tune which you aren't saying where its coming from or any specific details...

i hope all this is legit! its still too early for april fools!

i just noticed you're in norwalk too....

i'm in storrs right now in CT... care to share where you're getting this done?

Swift? EPL? or am i completely off?
ahh details!!

Someone that can provide a good tune for the r56 is going to make alot of money.

i'm just waiting for the alta accessport-like module. That should be the way to go, all depending on how similar it will actually be to the accessport.

If we all owned GTI's, we wouldn't be having this discussion - we'd ALL have tuned cars I hate that the MINI ECU is so hard to crack reliably (especially due to the fact that R56s are still under warranty).

Regardless, I too shall get out the popcorn.

We have tuning in the UK and have done for a while. Is it really down to the MAF for why there is no tuning in the US or are there other spec differences between US/EU minis which cause problems when it comes to remapping ?

You DO realize the turbo minis are direct injection... those 410cc rs4 injectors are NOT for our cars.

THESE will fit our cars. So is this reflash really coming? Or are you just blowing smoke at everyone?
Furthermore, you shouldn't have to upgrade your injectors (or want to, they're a ***** to change out on this motor) for a "225hp" flash. Wouldn't you need to see if its required by logging IDCs while you are tuning? This is all speculation, and I wish people would stop posting without any real info.

I think the OP is reffering to uprated injectors for a gt28rs turbo kit Your quite right though, no1 needs bigger injectors on the standard turbo and ive been reliably told bigger injectors arent needed unless you plan to get around 300whp..

Ive had alot of PMs over past couple days from members who have just signed up and have zero posts in the forum yet they are telling me how much the injectors can run power wise, whats the best parts etc for turbo upgrade, basically implying they are doing the same except they only joined NAM to PM me and tell me how they have everything sorted The smart money says if they actually were doing the turbo upgrade we would have all heard about it And if there was a tuning solution on its way i doubt very much the company would be keeping it a secret, the cars been out for almost 3 years and widely tuned in UK/EU so its hardly groundbreaking stuff that ecu tuning might be available soon in the States but the amount of recent posts with the OP claiming to know about this that and the next thing YET no mention of parts, companies etc etc..Wonder why....

I was thinking the same!

When you are tuning a Vw or Audi 2.0L turbo they usually leave the stock injectors and replace the fuel injection pump with a Hi flow pump.

I'm sorry, but you have to be skeptical given the guys recent posts.

You can't increase boost by tightening the wastegate screw, because you are completely ignoring the fact that boost is ECU regulated. The ECU will adjust the signal to keep boost at it's target (or it will throw a CEL).

Second, you can't claim a tune will be perfect without having the tune on your car. How do you know it will be perfect? What is it that you know about tuning that suggests you could even venture a guess as to how good the tune will be? There are SOOoooo many things to deal with when tuning a car. Tuning for WOT is easy, tuning for transient conditions can take hours and hours and is very hard to get perfect. What is your target AFR? What is the maximum ignition advance that this car will take? What about re-mapping the DBW and managing throttle response? How close to the pre-ignition threshold will this tune be? What is the minimum octane? Etc... I'm not trying to pee in your cheerios, just trying to make a point that you probably should let the results speak for themselves "after" you have the tune.

I wish you the best with your tune, but you really should chill a bit with the "revolutionary break through" type of posts.

Hey Everyone,

I agree with ALL of your skepticism, as there is much miss information in this thread.

We will NOT be using 410cc rs4 injectors as stated. These are not direct injection injectors.

We will NOT be tuning the car with any wastegate adjustment made.

This is the very early stages of development on this project.

Please feel free to stop over in this thread:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...epl-tunes.html

and ask any questions you may have .

Thanks,
Tony
