I could tell how you could like it... I don't like it personally, not at all, but the quality of that matte black paint job is high-class. It's hard to get matte paint right... I've seen splotchy attempts in my relatively short life span.

I think it would look better without the chrome headlight rings and beltline. Everything matte black (visually looks dark gray) would be too much. I could see the grille surround and headlight rings being painted black gloss which would appear darker and give it more of an edge. Additionally I think black gloss sport strips on the bonnet, roof and boot would look hot. It's all about the contrast and interest for which this car is currently lacking.

That is not necessarily paint. Someone here in NoVA has a red Ferrarri that he covered in flat black vinyl. I've seen it at MachV and at the Auto Show. You have to get REAL CLOSE before you can tell it isn't paint.

i like it. i think the chrome beltline and headlight rings provide the needed contrast.

i'd go with a single off-center gloss stripe, but it def looks good as is...

I used to live near there! Well, I was really young but still have the house...

Looks like a good start, but yeah... I think it needs some gloss black/flat black contrast.

it may be a work in progress (yes I agree, get rid of the chrome and needs some contrasting color from a stripe or maybe colored mirrors and headlight rings, etc). In any case, It certainly is unique and for that I LOVE it.

Matte Black looks cool. Now how about primer grey with orange wheels?
I likes the dull possibilities of these cars...

I think this guy Started Plasti-dipping his rims, and was then HOOKED, he just couldn't stop!
Best part is he can scrape it all off when he's tired of it.

What I don't get about the whole Plasti-dip (or vinyl) thing is longevity. It's not meant to last, even on tool handles. Soft rubber products degrade pretty fast with sun exposure. Also, the liquid rubber products tend to split and wrinkle easily. If you've used Plasti-dip you probably noticed how it tends to 'skin' over or leave wet pockets of uncured rubber trapped under layers. Seems iffy.

I like the matte black, but it makes the chrome stand out like a sore thumb. That's bad! Chromes gotta go!

OOOooohhh...I agree you have to black out everything if you're going matte. I'm gonna drop a little slang on this forum:

it's called, "Murdered out." Murdered = blacked. When people want to make their rides look like a stealth bomber or something.

This is sick when properly done! Props to the Brit!
