Creative Zen + aux input = no music

I am at a loss. I am trying to run my Creative Zen Vision:M through my aux input and I am getting no audio. My XM works perfectly fine through the aux input. And the headphone jack for the Zen seems to be working fine...I am having no issues using headphones.

Why won't the MP3 player and aux input play nice with one another?

Make sure your radio is switched to AUX mode.
Does a different MP3 player work with the Aux input port?
I am not familar with the XM connection to the radio, but maybe the input for the XM is not connected to the radio in the same module on the back of the radio as is needed of the normal (MP3) Aux input. Maybe it is even a different interface module into the radio.

Is it a line-out, or headphone jack that you're using on your Zen?

Is the volume level of your aux port turned up all the way, to level 5?

I am using the headphone jack of the MP3 player.

I tried again at lunch and figured it out...I have to MAX out the volume of the aux input, the mp3 player, and the radio before I hear anything. I wonder what causes the volume level to be so low.

Now I just need to remember to to turn the volume down if I switch over to radio or I will blow the speakers!

Watch out... maxing everything out is not a good idea. Zen headphone output was never design as an aux source.

I'm running the Creative Zen as well, and I need to be at Aux volume 5 (max), 3/4 volume on the Zen, and scary high on the radio volume ****. I haven't had any negative affects in 2 years of that config, tho.

What else could be used for output? I don't like using FM modulators because I rarely can find a clear station to broadcast on. I always thought the sound was better going through the aux input too.

I have a Creative Zen Vision:M also. I use the line out on the sync adapter (the white piece that plugs into the bottom of the player) instead of the earphone jack. I have been using this setup for about 3 years now and it works great. With the Aux level set at 2 the volume is the same as the FM radio.
