okedoke here are some of the issues:
it seems like the clutch throw out might be going out because i have to push the clutch pedal down hard to get a smooth engagement but once its going it shifts just fine
i noticed on some bumps the headlights flicker in and out
there is a tach but its not wired up...
there is a bit of rust on the door sills under the rubber trim
also the indicators they come on but they dont light up on the speedo

its a 28 yr old car so i know there are some issues so im willing to be patient and fix them so i can enjoy it more!

speaking of which what are some things to get a bit more performance out it

also i know its a Mini but what are some suggestions for oil/oil filter/spark plugs etc

Oil Filters:
Bosh 3330, 72150 or 72161
Purolator PL10028 or PL10241
Ac Delco PF53
K&N HP-1002

Spark Plugs:
NGK BPR6EY (Stock number 2489 or 6247)

Spark Plug Wires:
Ask for 69 Austin America or a 71 MG Midget
Denso 671-4114
NGK EUX033 (Stock number 54406)

Radiator Cap:
Unipart 9132
Stant 11329

Radiator Fan (10"):
I am using a Hayden Rapid Cool 3670 from Pepboys ($45). Following the instructions, I converted it from a push to a pull through.

Alternator:
1998 - 2001 Saturn 1.9L (SW2 would work). $30 used off ebay, $80 + $25 Core charge remanufactured.
I had to pick up an aftermarket V-groove pulley. Pepboys/Autozone has replacement V groove pulleys as cosmetic modifications under the brand Sceptre.

Might need to do some adjusting on the clutch, there are a number of places in the mechanical part of the clutch that can wear and cause clutch issues.

If you're going to replace the bearing I would suggest you either replace or thoroughly inspect the plunger, clutch arm, push rod and all the clevis pins. You have to take all that stuff off to get to the bearing anyway.

This can also all be done with the engine in the car.

welp the clutch issue i think is solved...its the slave cylinder....lost all hydro pressure tonight...wasnt too gentle with it getting it home but its safe here rather than on the side of the road....going from 2-4 was fine it was that initial start from the line

The clutch slave is relatively easy, just take the old one off and put the new one in and bleed the system.

Great looking car i must say!

As long as you're going to have the slave cylinder off, might as well change the rubber hose and maybe even the hard line.

Also wouldn't hurt to drain out the old fluid and then check the seals inside the master cylinder. Much much easier to do it all at once.

Old type - just like the picture...

You have a Non-verto clutch, [verto being the new type]

Take a flashlight and look at your clutch pedal for traces of fluid leaking down the arm from above. An indication of a bad MC.
