Nice Work! I placed a post on this same idea about a month ago. I used a old back pack strap. The only difference, I drilled a hole in the end that hooks on the head rest post so it the head rest sits down flatter than your loop. you can look it up here https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...imple-mod.html

There was a post in the past that described the method of removing the rear hatch door. If I remember right it involved unpopping a BUNCH of the fasteners around the perimiter of the frame. I would use a plastic tool available from Harbour Freight for a few dollars for the set. If you break any of the fasteners they are available cheap from the dealers. See www.realoem.com for the part number and an exploded view of the assembly.

sweet! did you buy a kit or just make the filler yourself? if the kit, does it involve much more than just that cover? some fasteners maybe? I'd like to make the 'false floor' people are doing in the audio threads for the subs and make that whole back area flat instead of having that dip there, that'd make it nice and clean! nice job though!

I made it my self. Took around 100lbs out of the car. the panel itself weighs maybe 10 lbs.

Here is another pic.

NICE! looks nice and clean! any write up for it coming? I'd love to have that on file for when I decide to tackle it. 100lbs though? thought it saved like 35 or somethin said outmotoring- though im probably completely wrong and the kit is like 35lbs. anyhow, nice job once again.

Dent Guy just popped the plastic off the inside of my hatch yesterday. It has quite a few plastic clips around the outside of the plastic part.

You have a big dent and you need to take the whole thing off or you just need access to it? I somehow had a pretty good dent above the handle and he just needed enough room to get his little pokey things in there.
