Brake Issue, JCW install

Ok, my friend and I are having in big issue. We installed a jcw brake kit, but the rear pads on and bleed the system. We then did a valve cover gasket, which took about an hour for the gasket job. We then went to go test the brakes and as I backed out of the driveway I lost the brakes. I had to pump them several times before I got little brake power. We pulled the car in and re-bleed. But when we did that the drives side brakes would only push are and no fluid would come out. We both have done brakes before so we are puzzled in the issue. HELP!!

Sounds like you may have gotten air into the master or ABS module.

How would that happen. When we were bleeding it it went from a fluid with air bubbling to just air with a spatter of fluid. If I does have air in the abs how could be fix that?

If you did get air into ABS module, you are SOL. You need the factory scan tool to pulse it.

I would try a power bleed or vacuum bleed. Odds are you got air in a weird spot that regular bleeding will not get out.

So, let me make sure I understand this right. You swapped the calipers, went to blead them thought you got the air, tried to use the brakes and the didnt work. Went back reblead. When you rebleeded did you get to the point where it was just fluid? Even if there is air in the ABS (which we dont know for sure), you should still be able to blead your brakes until you get nothing but fluid.

So, did you ever get to a point on the second blead where it was just fluid? Seems obvious but I am not sure based on what you originally posted.

You are going to need a power bleeder to get all the air out. I ended up buying one to do mine.

Also did you bleed in the correct order? I installed the jcw kit along with s/s brake lines a few months ago w/out the pressure bleeder and it worked perfectly.

Yup, we did it a 3rd time and got a steady, strong stream of fluid with no air bubbles.and with great pedal feel. As soon as we started the car the pedal went soft.

Yes we blead the system following far to near.
