Why is it such a pain to replacing the fog light on my MINI? There’s got to be a better way to replace the fog light other then removes the bumper from the MINI first. This is a lot of work just to be able to have my fog light bulb replace. Any commend on this anyone.

You dont have to remove the bumper.

Turn the steering wheel fully towards the burned out side (this gives you clearance).

Open the hood (bonnet).

Remove the 4 plastic 'push screws' in the plastic inner fender liner that reside behind the light. You have to remove the 'screw' (you are actually withdrawing a threaded plastic pin) and then pull out the outer portion of the fastener with your fingers.

Pull back on the plastic liner.

You will see the lamp assembly inside. Release the wiring connector by lifting the locking tang then pull the connector out.

Give the bulb a quarter turn twist and then pull it out.

Reassemble in the reverse order. To reinstall the plastic fasteners, press the 'fingered' portion into the holes in the liner and body, then simply push the 'screw-pin' back into the fastener body. It needs no tightening, it's an expanding rivet-type fastener.

It's not as difficult as it sounds!

I will say thanks also, that's a lot better than what I came up with.

A strange reply to this thread, I'd say. None of us wants to drive around w/a light out, regardless of how the fogs work!!!

I thought all this stuff was covered under the warranty, at least for the first three years.

Regards,
