Hola all,

Well, I have bad news. As of December 5th, I no longer am a R56 Owner. Yep, you guessed it, my 7 week old Cooper got totalled out due to some dumb-a$$ not paying attention in traffic.

The good thing is, the car only depreciated by about $800.00. The bad is that I'm currently fighting with my insurance company due to the agency rep not putting GAP coverage on the car, even though my wife's car has it, and I asked for the same coverages as her car.

Also, I'm still breathing, which is always good. I do have a broken sternum, and possibly a cracked rib, which x-rays later today will tell.

Ever have one of those days where life seemed to just suck? This was one for me...

BTW, it seems so much sadder when this happens to a MINI. I mean, if it were a Camry, it's would be like "Well, my refrigerator broke"... but a totalled MINI? You actually kinda feel bad for it.

 

Broken Sternum! Thats gotta hurt. Like you said at least youre alive and will be OK. Hydrocoedone is your friend. Feel Better.

 

Are you going to buy another? or are you done with the Mini's?

The great news is you will be OK.....you can always get another Mini. Hope you heal well.

 

Yet another MINI sacrifices itself to protect the owner. So sad to see, but so happy to hear that you are in relatively good shape (though it might not feel that way the next time you cough with the broken rib).

 

Yup....wrecking a MINI does not make for a good day. Ask me how I know.

 

That's just a little scratch. We can just buff that out.

it's good to see that the r56 can take a beating, wow but looks like you might* have bent the frame... hopefully it was a lease, and they can give you a new one. if not i would order another and get a rental until you can replace it.

 

Sorry to hear you lost your new baby. Glad it was the car that got totaled and not you. Get better soon and order up a new MINI so you can get back to motoring!

 

By any chance did you lease it? I was going to get gap insurance at my insurance agency. They gave me a price and told me I should ask the dealer if it was included in the lease. I did and Gap insureance was included in the Mini Financial Lease.

thank goodness you're ok! Out of curiosity, at the point of collision what what your speed and the speed of the other car?

 

Maybe they will sell it to you cheap - you could make a track car out of it!

Thats one of Clown's relatives! Mine is nearly identical except for the fact that I have the crome mirror caps and the blue color line interior w/ sport seats.

I hope you can get sorted out, health and car wise.
