H&R sway front and rear with JCW suspension

H&R sway front and rear with JCW suspension.

Anyone got this setup?

I have the JCW suspension right now.

I am not sure if adding H&R front and back will make it better or no difference at all....

let me know your thoughts.
Thanks....

what are you trying to do w/ the car? street only, some track time, track only, auto-x? i don't see many scenarios where a larger front bar will improve things. many, in fact, have gone to smaller (MC) front bars or eliminated them altogether. do a bit of homework on suspensions before spending hard earned $$$ on parts that may make your car handle worse. pm me for a suggested reading list if you would like.

read some stuff on rear sways will make a big difference.

Mostly street and light track...

Rides well now.. but want to take to another level..

i am thinking it maybe the stinky OEM run flats..

the addition of a larger rear anti-sway bar will reduce the factory designed understeer in the car. adding a stiffer front bar at the same time will effectively cancel this result. there are also many other ways to reduce understeer. by "reading", i didn't mean on this or any other forum. i meant books. i'm old, so i remember them and use them when necessary.

I have JCW suspension & H&R's biggest bars on their softest settings.

Handles great but it did affect the ride & the anti-lock brakes kick-in more often on uneven roads.

I have the JCW suspension as well as a Hotchkis Competition rear sway bar and they compliment each other nicely. The JCW suspension as you know limits suspension travel and lowers the body for flatter and more precise cornering. However as you've read and as stated here, the car is still front-wheel drive and will predominately under-steer but a stiffer rear sway bar limits under-steer. When I installed my rear sway bar for the first time, I felt that the car steered more from the "center" unlike previously whereas the front had all the burden (and understeered) and the rearend was only there for the ride. The stiffer-rear sway bar got the rear-end involved and it was an immediately noticeable and worthwhile upgrade.

So both bahawton and lovethecorners setup had bigger rear sway, but no fronts since as Bean stated will cancel each other out?

so it's going to help understeer if i just put the rear sways on and leave the front as is?

I have the JCW suspension a 19mm rear bar. The bar is highly recommended as it will effectively cancel out the understeer built into the car. My car seems better balanced and neutral now

Yep... rear bar plus front camber plates make the biggest positive changes in the handling of the car, IMHO.

Thanks.
Will get the rear installed now.

I am guessing H&R is okay?
I don't think JCW makes a bigger rear sway right?

Aftermarket bars allow adjustment of the stiffness which OEM never would. Go aftermarket. You can set the bar in its mildest setting for the daily drive and set it stiffer for an autocross. It's a very nice compromise.
