HAWK Performance Ceramic Pads

Does anyone have any experience with these pads. I use the car for an everyday driver, I'm happy with the performance of the stock pads except the heavy dusting (white wheels). I'm looking for pads that will work as well as stock (or better) aren't noisy and lave little dust. I drive very aggressively on occasion but most of the time am "spirited" in my style. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I have had the Hawks for two years without a problem.

I just put these on my car and really like them. The lack of dusting is really good. They are nice and quiet, especially compared to stock pads when it is cold outside. Stopping power feels about the same to me as I drive mine as a daily driver.

If I'm still under the factory warranty, will changing the pads void it?

Well..... depends on what part of the "warranty" you're talking about...

If under "free" 36 month maintenance... changing to aftermarket pads will mean no more free pad/rotor replacements.

For the actual warranty - legally, changing pads to aftermarket pads that conform to specs can't "void" anything.... though you may have problems getting the dealer to cover any future issues you might have with rotors or calipers (rare).

Note: You might loose some bite when they are cold.

to add to the confusion

I have EBC greens on the 02 and the 07...on the second set on the 02...guess that means I'm happy with them huh? Lower dust than stock; decent bite....this is EBC's street pad. When I changed the 02 the second time I also used Brembo plain (no drilled or slots) rotors. No complaints here.

Just another brand to consider

We like the HPS pads a bit better than the Ceramic pads. They have the same level of brake power, but even less dust and less noise at a better price. give them a try and you will not be unhappy. Hawk HPS Pads.

Thanks to Chad he talked me into the Hawk pads and now I wont step away from them. I am EXTREMELY happy with the pads and I am glad I got them. When cold there not as "bitey", but still safe,

Then once there warn.. OH man hold on to you face before you go to slam the brakes. I noticed a difference in times with my auto x runs for sure with these pads. You should buy them especially from Chad, He wont steer you wrong.

HPS had more bite and more dust??
Your correct. The amount of dust diffrence is nominal. Its the color and transparency of the dust that I would say is the major diffrence.

Performance ceramic makes a bit less dust, and its a lighter tan, more transparent.

HPS makes a darker more opaque dust.

I have the HPS on mine, and the Ceramics on the wife's.

It takes her about 2-3 weeks of driving for her wheels to look as dirty as mine do right inside 5-7 day mark. I brake hard, so I am sure that plays a factor.

Expect a firmer pads from Performance Ceramics. HPS have a softer, easier to modulate feel.

I prefer the HPS but thats because it favors my regressive braking style even used on the street,

I have to unglaze her pads every time I driver her car. Thats not the pads fault, just moreso sedate progressive braking were all taught in drivers' ed.

Alex
