MP3 Playback starting from beginning of track (FIXED)
So I think I randomly came up with a way for those who listen to audiobooks (or long concerts/DJ sets) to pick up their mp3 from where they left off. This has long been an issue for many people so I'm 99% positive this works since I tested it twice.
In order to get your mp3 track to resume where it left off (after being out of the car over 30 minutes since we all know it has that memory)
1) before turning off the car change from cd to tuner
2) turn off the radio with the volume button prior to shutting off the car (might be an optional step)
3) shut off car
That's it. Get back in the car the next day (or after work etc) and start the car turn the radio on w/ the volume button again and switch to cd. It should resume where you left it.
A simple fix for those that are sick of holding FF down to get back to where they are....especially b/c the R56 radios don't display track time (someone find a fix for that!)
I hope this helps someone.

Good find! Thanks for posting the info.
I agree on the track time point; MINI has never used a head unit that shows track time. It's annoying for me too to not see the track time.

With the Nav, it shows track time on audio CD tracks and on mp3 files as well.
For me, step number two is the only one required. I burned some Car Talk podcasts to an MP3 CD and had it work successfully over multiple tests. It doesn't seem to work for iPods though.

Ok then - use step #2! Thanks for the heads up!
