Where to get a lug wrench?
My '09 MCS did not come with a jack because it has run flats. I expressed my concerns about not having a jack to my MA and he kindly offered me one for free. While I received the jack, I did not receive a lug wrench to remove the lug nuts! It seems kind of pointless to have a jack and no wrench to remove a wheel, since I was planning to use it to rotate tire and/or having it in case of some kind of road side situation (you know - be prepared and all that). I may not go with run flats for the next set of tires, so I want to be able to take them off if need be. I would probably also get one of those SLIME/compressor kits too in the future. But, where would I get a (small size) lug wrench that fits in the boot compartment (in one of those slots)? What have you all done about this "jackless situation"?
The jack is supposed to come with a lug wrench and a screw driver (to get the hub caps off the MINI wheels) all in a molded styrofoam block to hold them that fits in the space under the boot.
You really ought to have a torque wrench if you are going to rotate the tires yourself. Lug bolts should be tightened to 103 lb. ft.

When I picked up my 2009 MCS with run-flats on September 30, I noticed there were no tools in the stryofoam holder beneath the floor of the boot. I mentioned it to my sales rep and she said that they arrive packed separately and the dealer's service folks sometimes forget to put them in the boot.
A few minutes later they put them in: lug-bolt wrench, jack, folding chock, screwdriver, and a few other items (don't remember specifically, but each cutout had something in it).

My early 02 S did not come with a jack ... that was how they were delivered then. But that soon changed. (it doesn't have the emergency rear hatch release either...or the brake wear sensors....but it does have the tight suspension!)

Use it to jack up the car, locate and remove the nail, plug the puncture, fill air and continue motoring. I timed it at 9 minutes on my Miata where the Mazda people are smart enough not to place the car on run flats and destroy the ride/handling.

lug wrench
Four questions:
1. Will a standard 4-way lug wrench work on both a 2008 MC (standard 15" wheels) as well as a 2006 MCS (standard 16" wheels)?
2. Without running back and forth with different size sockets, anybody know which size (metric or standard) sockets fit both cars?
3. What is the ft/lb. torque requirements for each car?
4. What's the best tool to "pop" off the center lug cap?
Thanks for saving me several trips!

A search in the Tires, Wheels, & Brakes forum should provide answers to some of your questions.
103 ft. lbs. for R56. I think the earlier models are 89 ft. lbs., but I'm not sure.
A screwdriver. The MINI jack kit supplies a screwdriver for this purpose.
The R56 lug bolts are 14mm and take a 17mm socket. Earlier models use 12mm lug bolts. I don't know what size socket it takes.
