Stock H/U aftermarket amp install questions

i have an 04 cooper s with out the harmon kardon system and i am trying to install an amp with the stock head unit. my problem is the inputs into the amp. where do i get the input and what is the best sounding way to do that. i know that line converters will do the trick but i have no idea how to put those in. this has probly already been covered on a post somewhere but ive searched quite a bit and didnt find any details on my situation.

Try pulling it from the rear speakers. I did this and it was great.

a line converter simply would connect to either the front or rear speaker converting the high-signal (speaker signal) to a low-level signal suitable for most amplifiers.

However, there are several amplifiers out there that can also accept high-level inputs so a line converter is unnecessary

I replaced my speakers and installed this amp into my non HK stock HU. It sounds great and was relatively easy. The advantage of this amp is that you can buy the adaptor harness and extension cables which make the install plug and play. The amp is small enough to fit under my seat with no mods except I used some carpet screws to hold it from sliding around. The amp needs to be wired for power separately from the battery. The only negative I found from going this way is that the amp is more expensive than others, but to me this was more than offset by all of the other factors.
