Interior/Exterior Air Filter- K&N or Green worth the extra money?
Air Filter- K&N or Green worth the extra money?
I was thinking about changing the air filter (under bonnet engine/supercharger filter). Is the extra $50 or so for either K&N or Green (both are available from moss mini) worth it? Do you know if either is better than the other? I'm thinking about new air filter for increasing performance and mostly mileage (i'm getting a measly 20 mpg!).
Also, I'm pretty sure a non-pro changed the air filter in my new-used car previously. One of the 2 torx screws in front was replaced with a philips head - probably a wood screw(?!?!) - so what should I do if the threads are starting to get stripped?
Thanks!

I'd get the Alta drop in panel filter. The wood screw? Not sure how to deal with that. Also 20MPG sounds very low. You may have some other issues under the hood to address. I think most get high 20's for MPG. I know a local guy changed his supercharger intercooler boots and went from 18MPG to 27MPG over night, the OEM rubber ones do fail. Alta also as the really good replacement boots too.
