MCSa stock diverter valve sound.

I just got an 08' MCSa (EU spec) and noticed the stock DV is audible when letting off the throttle (after building boost). I can still hear the DV even when the windows are up. The car is 100% stock.
I didn't notice this sound when I had an 07' MCS, but I only had that car for a very short time. I'm just wondering if this is normal on all MCSa?

My 2009 MCS-A has a faint sound also. There are replacement options for the DV apparently, and are designed around minimizing "boost shift" sounds (maybe with a blow-off piece ?). I don't know that it's worth it, because it's not that loud, and since I'm considering the JCW Cold Air Intake mod (https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...hlight=JCW+CAI), it'd be like peeing into the wind.

A blow off valve will just make it louder. Does it actually bother you. Only turbo cars I have ever heard where you can't here the turbo at all are saabs

Really ? Makes sense, but I thought the blow-off directs the sound elsewhere.

I have a Saab too, and you're right that the turbo is quiet. VWs are like this too, but it's such a noisy engine space, it's hard to tell.

I've got a 08 MCSa and, to be honest, I was surprised the first time I heard the DV pop off while mountain driving. I don't normally drive my car hard enough to hear it, but the noise seems perfectly normal and I actually like it.
