An Astro Black MINI Needs Your Help!

Ok so here is the plan.

Operation De-chrome or bust is half way done. Tomorrow, I'm going to my paint guy one last time for him to finish up the bits.

I have my Headlight Rings, Tail Light Rings, m7 Vortex Scoop, Grille Surround, and Side Repeaters (housing too) all in ASTRO BLACK. It loooks really goooood. Here's where I am unsure. Should I go Gloss Black paint on the door handles and gas cap? The beltline will be painted Gloss black, not Astro as I love the way it breaks the car up.

So, my question to you is Gloss black for both or for one and not the other, etc? Or should I just have them Astro Black too? Let me know what you think. I'm just going for an estimate tomorrow so no rush, but I would like to finish it before my upcoming MINI Rally on October the 19th. Thanks guys and gals!

Astro Door Handles +4
Astro Gas Cap +4

Gloss Door Handles +1
Gloss Gas Cap +1

I would go for Astro Black on the handles and gas cap versus gloss black. I like the idea for gloss black paint on the beltline versus Astro Black. Somewhat the plan I am planning to take, It is good to see the different options that people take. The painted wheel flares look great, by the way. That is on my list to do too. Keep it up, it looks great.

Thanks Dark Knight! Yeah, I keep thinking about the combination. I am leaning toward Astro. Also, if the door handles go Astro than I will prob match the gas cap with it too. Make it flow even more.

The painted fenders I had done when I picked the car up on delivery. Without it, I feel like any MINI, let alone the hypersport package ones, look a bit unfinished. Just my opinion, even though they look great anyways. Again thanks for the kind words and feedback!

haha yeah, see my guy is just going to paint the ones on the car along with the beltline. No taking anything apart. I have a good relationship with these guys and they do tremendous body work. They take care of most of the super cars and luxury body work in my area.

However, I'm going to be selling vinyl wrapped ones, non comfort access if anyone is interested.

I'm for AB as well.

Any pics of the vortex scoop? That's the only exterior mod I'm considering.

Cheers

Your all in luck. I just had somewhat of a photo shoot with my friend who is a great photographer. Astro Black is such a sweet color, a great choice on the MINI, especially if the Blackout Theme was in your horizon.

Here is the m7 Vortex Scoop Pictures:

I'll have to post in a different post for other pictures as they are one my other computer. Heres the m7 though. Looks awesome! Go for it.

So thats more for the Astro Black. Thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming!

Very impressive! This gives me a better idea of how mine will look with the painted fenders. Now those chrome rings will need to be painted next. =)

Thank you!!
Yeah, before I was on the fence about breaking down and spending the $$ on paint.

I used the plasti-dip black paint for everything I had chrome. It looks very, very tidy and very nice! I would reco. to anyone trying to get involved in painting. Although it doesnt make it astro black, it does a wonderful job of getting rid of that chrome. The paint costs 4.52PT at Home Depot.

Thanks! Keep the feedback coming about the handles and gas cap!

On a side note, I'll post the pictures of my car in a different thread, this way I can keep this one on track. I'll link this thread though so you can easily navigate to it. Thanks for the interest! Hopefully, you will enjoy them.

I would go astro black too. I just like the simplicity of one color. But since you already have gloss+astro black I guess you could go either way!
Great looking Mini btw!! I remember it from the CAI videos I found on Youtube!

Yes, those are me and thanks for watching! However, it sounds and looks much different now! Keep a look out soon for some new ones of in car driving, exhaust, and the new AGS-R!

So I thinking I'm over 50 percent sure now that I will be doing Astro on the Door handles and Gas Cap. Thanks for the input thus far and keep it coming! Motor On!
