Kind of a Newbie Question about the CVT

What years did the Non-S R53 have CVT? Was it all years, or from 02-04 or something? I searched around and couldn't find a definitive answer.

As a side note, I love the CVT... I had in my first car ('02 Mini) and I loved it... I know it doesn't have the nice "gear change" sound/feel like a regular automatic transmission, but nothing's better than no dips in power through the entire speed range.

I think all R50s have it (2002 - 2006).

I'm also a newbie but I can chime in a bit because I did some investigation of the CVT. My 04 is CVT equipped.
First, the designation for the first gen non-S is R50. The S is R53 and the Cabrio is R52.
The CVT is in the R50 (non-S) from 02 thru 06 and the R52 from 04 to present.
