Intermitant Static from Speakers/Radio on but no sound

Intermitant Static from Speakers/Radio on but no sound
While I was driving today, all of a sudden I got a high static sound from all four speakers. I stopped and turned the car off hoping to reset. Now I have static coming from just the rear speakers on and off and the radio is on but no sound. Help.
