Epic makes me wish my car wasn't Pepper White!

Had my car for a few weeks now and gave its first detail job today. Started with the Dawn wash and then moved on to the Epic.

All I can say is wow! My car looks better than it did when I picked it up! The black roof is so deep and glossy I can hardly believe it. The Epic went on easy and came off even easier with a monster fluffy. The only wax I've used before (on previous cars) is Meguire's, and this stuff has that beat cold.

My baby's in the garage tonight, waiting for another coat of Epic tomorrow.

My only complaint is that with the Pepper White, it's shiny, but not that so deep you want to dive in look that the black roof has.

For the first time I found myself wishing I'd gotten a darker color.

Now I just need to get back to my car with a little peanut butter to clean up the trim (too lazy/non-OCD to tape).

by tomorrow you might get the full effect of DP's polymer and enjoy
your car the way it is.

So to get some more bang for my Epic buck, I also washed and Epic'ed my 68 Cougar (avocado green!) today. Now, the paint was already in pretty good shape, but damn it looks good now! I just wish there weren't acres and acres and acres of it to wax! I think I could fit my entire MINI on the hood of that beast. (Waxed the old blue CA license plates, too, and they look spiffier, too)

Might just cover myself in Epic when I'm done and do my part to save water in this drought we're having.

Granted, it's overcast and not the best for showing shiny, but here are a couple of pics anyway.

Just washed for the first time yesterday since applying the Epic. Wow! The water beaded up like nothing I've seen before.

I do have a question about applying Hydro and blotting dry: is it possible? Seems to me that instinct says "rub in" with the Hydro, that blotting it wouldn't distribute the droplets over the entire finish.

I waxed my Pepper White/Black Clubman with Maguiars when I got it and have been using Hydro after each wash. This thread made me go back and buy a bottle of Epic. Waiting for delivery now.

It looks great now, but I figured, what the heck! Do you guys think I;m gonna see a big difference after using the Epic?

Love my PW, especially w/ Epic - but recently I put some Banana Gloss over the Epic at Heather's advice, and WOW! Love the depth, even my non-OCD neighbor noticed the difference right away. Gotta give that a try for the perfect look on PW.

No.

As for wishing one didn't have a PW because darker colors look better when they're freshly detailed: You'll feel a lot better as you start seeing swirls and scratches on your black roof, when can barely see them on the rest of your car. Dark colors are great when they're perfect, our PW cars are great the other 90% of the time!
